Our story

We're Don & Jenny, owners of the Backroad Cabin. We built our home just down the road nearly a decade ago, drawn to this secluded little nook of Paradise Valley and the quiet we find here.

We love bird dogs, wild places, and long drives on dirt roads. A few of our favorite things up here: sleeping with the windows open (except for winter), listening for elk on the nearby hills, walking or skiing up the nearby trail nearly every day,  the people who live in this valley, a good band at one of our local venues on a Thursday night, floating the river in our raft, hunting, fishing, and sitting on our porch watching the thunderstorms roll through.

Jenny is a writer and marketing director and works for a local nonprofit. Don works in wildland fire. This backroad living is our dream—and it means a lot to share a piece of it with you. We're here if you need local tips.

Lupine is your canine host: A wirehaired pointing griffon, she enjoys vole hunting, bird hunting, cuddling, and visiting the local BBQ joint for pets and treats. Lupine provides all dog guests with her welcome guide to enjoying the Backroad Cabin.
